Bactrian Graphite
Bactrian Graphite
The 100% owned Bactrian Project (EPM 28463) sits about 130 km north of Cloncurry in Queensland’s Northwest Minerals Province, in the Dromedary North district. It is adjacent to, and distinct from, the separately owned Mt Dromedary graphite deposit.
Graphite Exploration
Charged has completed multiple reverse-circulation drill campaigns at Bactrian, targeting high-grade zones within graphitic schists of the Corella Formation. Drilling has confirmed shallow, high-grade graphite mineralisation and supports ongoing resource growth and upgrade work.
Metallurgical Test Work
Lab-scale flotation by ProGraphite produced a graphite concentrate of 95.6% purity (loss on ignition). That concentrate was then spheronised and purified to 99.96% purity, with very low residual impurities. Purification used a caustic bake followed by an acid leach (HCl and H₂SO₄ routes tested), without hydrofluoric acid.
Spheronised products include SPG15 and SPG20 grades. The SPG20 product returned a tap density of 0.98 g/cm³. Coating, carbonisation and independent battery cell testing are still to come.
Resource
An updated JORC (2012) Mineral Resource Estimate for Bactrian was reported in September 2026. Classification, tonnes and grade are summarised in the table. Competent Persons: Adrian Buck and Lyon Barrett, Measured Group.
Against the maiden Resource earlier in 2026, tonnage, grade and contained graphite have increased materially, including a first Indicated component. Drilling continues!
Scoping Study
Wave International completed Charged’s first integrated Scoping Study in early August. It brings Resource, flowsheet, product and project concept together for the first time, and recommends advancing to a Pre-Feasibility Study with a pilot plant.
The concept is an open-pit mine and concentrator at Bactrian (about 130 km north of Cloncurry), feeding a Townsville refinery for Coated Spherical Purified Graphite (CSPG) battery anode material, targeting about 30,000 tonnes per annum over a 22-year mine life via the Port of Townsville.
This is a Class 5 / preliminary study (±50%). The Scoping Study is being updated in line with the Resource and the Company is assessing the pathway to a Prefeasibility Study.
This website includes forward-looking statements. Actual outcomes may differ. An Exploration Target is conceptual. A Mineral Resource is only stated where a JORC (2012) statement says so.
